André Barbault, Pandemics and Wars

In the spring of 2020 the Astrological Journal published an interesting article by André Barbault, written in 2011. In it he foresees that 2020-2022 could well bring an outbreak of a pandemic. And unfortunately he was right!

The article in the A.J. was entitled An overview of pandemics and introduced by Victor Oliver as follows:

“The current coronavirus pandemic was forecast by the French master of mundane astrology in a 2011 essay – and we are honoured to republish it in translation.
Barbault identified cyclic conjunctions or concentrations of ‘slow planets’ at certain points in history with epidemics, wars and natural catastrophes. This work stands as a remarkable testament to the value of astrology.
”

This conclusion over the article by André was a clear reason for me to research it further, as I was surprised, as well as somewhat taken aback.
The concept of a natural catastrophe is difficult to define, so I limited my research to the categories ‘pandemics’ and ‘wars’, which in combination are responsible for the greatest human catastrophes.

Robert D. Doolaard

A former student of the Rotterdam Art Academy, he spent many years of his life working as an artist-painter. From 1962 he studied astrology, his particular interest centring on mundane astrology. In 1986  his book Waves was published by Ankh-Hermes. In this, Robert Doolaard described his unique research into the correlation between planetary cycles and the peaks and lows in recorded history over the past twenty-six centuries.
According to Doolaard, civilisation consists of the collective effort by humankind to rid the world of suffering. Both the successes as the failures of this effort run parallel to differentiable phases of planetary cycles. He therefore also refers to this original new vision into our past as planetary-cyclic historiography.
